What is randy shannon?

Randy Shannon is a former American football player and coach. He was born on February 24, 1966 in Miami, Florida. Shannon played college football at the University of Miami as a linebacker from 1985 to 1988.

After his playing career, Shannon began coaching. He served as an assistant coach at the University of Miami from 1991 to 2000, first as a graduate assistant and later as linebackers coach and defensive coordinator. In 2001, he was promoted to head coach, becoming the first African-American head coach in the history of the University of Miami football program.

Shannon went on to coach at various colleges and in the NFL, including stints with the Miami Dolphins, Arkansas Razorbacks, and UCF Knights. He most recently served as the defensive coordinator for the UCF Knights from 2016 to 2018.
